4x4 Access only though, and be prepared for a river crossing or 2

Some great camping spots here, large flat open spaces with plenty of room for everyone.

Love this remote location set against the Turon River. Suitable for families and the children can safely swim in the generally shallow and slow moving river (weather and rainfall permitting of course).

The campground on the Turon at the Diggings has a 'long drop' style toilet, picnic settings and the Turon is beautiful and accessible. There are mine shafts in the area, which have been fenced off, but watch the kids anyway. The warning that you need a 4 wheel drive is warranted, in dry weather most 4x4's would be ok, in wet weather a helicopter would be safer, 'Steep Hill Road' which is part of the route is exactly that, very, very steep.
